Northern Sharks History

The club was established in 1973 formerly known as the Northern Suburbs and became the University Sharks in 1994. Barry Hounslow, Marty Ramage, Phil Brown and Scott Vickery were some of the well-respected players and members of this era.

Today we are the Northern Sharks with our homeground in Palmerston. The club has risen from very humble beginnings and has reached pinnacle success in the competition, with the backing of passionate supporters and life members who are still actively involved today.

Since our inception into the NRLNT, the Northern Sharks RLFC has continually strived to not only develop rugby league skills but to inspire sportsmanship and comradery, pride in being a club member and to foster family-based values.
